  A Speaker and Best Selling author Scott began his journey of dreaming at 21 yrs. of age. This unique season was characterized by the profound and sudden realization of the beginning of a prolific dreaming experience and that often included multiple dreams a night. While raised in a non-religious home environment he has never had any recollection of dreams from early childhood up to this point at age 21.    

  The dreams were clearly a direct response to his prayers to hear the voice of God after a powerful life altering spiritual encounter and awakening in the desert of Southern California late in 1985. The intrigue of this active dreaming experience has inspired his pursuit to understand the many kinds of dreams and symbolism present in his dreams.    

  His goal has been to find the truth of the meaning of these nightly mysteries. While diligently working with his own dreams and progressing in his talent and craft of interpreting dreams, Scott has spent the past 25 years studying many contemporary authors, researching historical accounts and examining numerous cultural, scientific and spiritual perspectives of dream interpretation. He has also been actively listening to and interpreting 1000’s of dreams of other people.

  In the 1990’s he began teaching his own seminars, retreats, workshops and in conference settings sharing his knowledge and skill in order to help train others to work with and understand their dreams. His perspective involves placing a high value on impartation and giving away what he has received from heaven through public speaking, coaching/mentoring and writing.

   Scott's intention and purpose is to build knowledge into others in order for them to properly understand and interpret dreams. This in turn helps them gain insight into the relational and developmental process that is involved in becoming a highly skilled interpreter with answers to dreams and symbolism characterized by revelation.

  Scott currently lives in San Diego, California and is the Best Selling Author of the book, ‘What Every Dream Means’. Much of his time and attention these days involves focusing on his writing, regular media appearances and offering digital training products and services to people interested in prophecy and in their dreaming life throughout the global internet community through new and innovative technologies.

"There are lots of dream books out there. Many are helpful; many are questionable. This book by Scott Shafer is written from a Christian perspective: God gives dreams, He speaks to us through dreams, and He helps us interpret them. 

God loves to speak to people: He's doing it all the time. But the voice of God comes very often through parables and stories and symbols and dreams. It's not always easy to discern what He's trying to get through to us. Here's a helpful book, an encouragement to explore a fascinating intersection of the human and the divine. 

Shafer does a great job of detailing many of the dreams found in the Bible. He shares some of the dreams he's had himself (I myself would have liked more of these). He shares experiences helping interpret the dreams of pre-Christians (and suggests this as a very fruitful outreach ministry). He has chapters on journaling our dreams, and on small groups focused on sharing dreams. 

There are sections relating to cautions about dreams. Am I taking my dreams for granted, basically ignoring them as unimportant to my real life? Have I meditated on my dreams sufficiently so I'm able to accurately act on them? Am I depending on some book of dream symbols, or am I depending on the One who gave me the dreams? Have I prayed about how I might respond? He offers two questions to ask ourselves about a dream: What should I begin to pray about, and, Do I need to change? 

I've always be fascinated by the whole subject of dreams. Scott Shafer has helped me with this, inspired me to listen and respond to God more diligently. My recommendation: get the book. It's well worth the investment."
